Organic Pork Lard (300g*)
All of our free range organic pork lard is made from the fat trimmings of our traditional breed pigs, which are free to roam and forage for their natural diet on fresh pasture.
Our pastured pork lard is made by gently warming the fat trimmings to just above melting point so’s not to damage any of the fats, before quickly cooling it again to set it.
Needless to say, our Organic Pork Lard is neither hydrogenated nor partially hydrogenated.
Once received, dripping can be kept in the fridge for a month, or frozen for up to 6.
*300g is the target weight, though it is difficult to ensure every tub is the same. We fill the tubs to the top with melted fat, which then contracts when it cools. Depending upon the temperature and composition of the fat this results in variable weights. Usually tubs should be over 300g, but occasionally they may be under.
