Enhanced Paleo Beef Burger Recipe
Today’s “Enhanced Beef Burger” recipe is provided by Selma Harman, Registered Nutritional Therapist, at www.SelmaHarmanNutrition.com.These burgers are “enhanced” with organic grass-fed beef liver – one of the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet, but not always to everyone’s taste. By sneaking the liver into these delicious burgers, you can nourish the whole family while avoiding tantrums at the dinner table!
Equipment
- Food Processor
- Mixing Bowl
- Griddle Pan
Ingredients
- 400 g Grass-fed organic beef mince
- 250 g Grass-fed organic beef liver
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 10 slices Thinly sliced watermelon radishes
- Salt and Pepper To taste
Instructions
- Whiz the liver in the food processor until finely chopped, then transfer to a large mixing bowl
- Add the minced beef to the chopped liver, then mix in the finely chopped onion and salt and pepper to taste
- Knead this mixture for 5 minutes to combine the ingredients and ensure that they bind together. You will notice the mixture becoming stickier the longer you knead it.
- Form the enhanced paleo beef burger patties with your hands. Make them as big or as small as you like! Refrigerate for 30 mins to rest the meat.
- Cook on a medium heat either in a griddle pan or under the grill to your liking. Remember, if you are going to eat rare meat, make sure you know where it's coming from – That's why I always buy from Green Pasture Farms!
Notes
The 10 slices of thinly sliced watermelon radishes are to use in place of a bread bun. Alternatively you could use roasted portabello mushrooms, lettuce leaves, or anything else tasty and healthy that’ll keep your fingers clean!
